School Patent – Step into the Future at the VI St Petersburg International Innovation Forum 2013

Starting October 2, 2013 and following the next 2 days, St Petersburg turned into an innovation capital of Russia where more than 70 business and presentation events could be seen on the site of the St Petersburg International Innovation Forum (PMIF).

The Forum was held with the support of the Government of St Petersburg and organized by the Committee on Industrial Policy and Innovation. As per tradition, PMIF was held jointly with the International Russian Industrialist Forum in Lenexpo.

The opening ceremony was attended by Georgy Poltavchenko, Governor of St Petersburg, and Mikhail Myasnikovich, Prime Minister of Belarus.

This year, the main theme of the forum was From Innovative Regions to Innovative Russia. The focus of discussions and round tables has been made on the development of innovative regions: the functioning of the development institutions; attracting investment to innovative projects and start-ups; creation and development of engineering centers, cluster policy, and legal aspects of innovation.

The Forum’s program consisted of 72 events of various sizes and formats including 1 plenary meeting, 10 conferences, 3 symposiums, 27 round tables, 6 panel discussions, and 4 investment sessions.

Events of the first day of the forum were held on the topic From Innovative Regions of Russia to Innovation. The second day of the forum focused on Innovative City: Technological Innovation and the final day on Youth and Innovation.

Children’s art at the contest School Patent – Step into the Future, project in the framework of Days of Intellectual Property organized by the Institute of International Business and Law, was also shown in the main exhibition center of the Lenexpo Innovation Forum.
